Cleaning Hardwood Floors

Cleaning Hardwood Floors

Cleaning hardwood floors needn't be difficult. It should be a pleasure to make your floor sparkle. Hardwood really does ooze class, I for one am extremely proud of my floor.

When cleaning hardwood don't use too many harsh products as they may damage the floor or finish, especially if used regularly.

Use a microfibre or fabric mop, they are very soft and won't scratch or harm your floor. These mops have a simple sheet that clips onto the head of the mop. The microfibre sheets are usually inexpensive and disposable or the material sheets are more expensive but can be put in the washing maching and used again. Both of these sheets are designed for wood floors and will not scratch or mark them. Also use a minimal amount of liquid when using them so that your floor does not become saturated with water, spaying your cleaning fluid onto the mop rather than the floor is best.

There are many floor cleaning solutions available or you can make a floor cleaner yourself which is just as effective.

How To Make eco-friendly floor cleaner:

. 1 spray bottle
. 1/8 cup of white vinegar
. 1 tspn lemon juice
. Warm/hot water
. 1 swiffer like sweeping product
. 1 micro-fiber cloth

Combine the vinegar and lemon juice in the spray bottle, then fill the rest of the bottle with warm to hot water. Then spray the micro-fiber cloth with your cleaner and clip the cloth onto the swiffer like mop and try to mop along the seams of the flooring.
