Cleaning Laptop Screen
Cleaning laptop screen must be done with some care so as not to cause any damage. Most laptop manufacturers include cleaning instructions with the laptop. If you have these check them first. Turn off the laptop before cleaning the display as you will dirt more easily on the screen. Always use a non-abrasive cloth such as a cotton t-shirt or a shammy cloth. If using a shammy cloth use this dry as a secondary cleaning cloth. This will get rid of any streaks or smears on the screen Never use paper towels or tissues to clean your display. Do not use any ammonia based cleaners on the display - they will leave a film. You can purchase monitor cleaning solutions in spray or pre-moistened wipes. Always spray on a cloth first then wipe the screen from left to right, top to bottom. If you prefer you can make your own cleaning solution using isopropyl alcohol and water. Use one part water and one part isopropyl alcohol. Use any cleaning solution very sparingly. When cleaning the screen do not press down very hard. Wipe lightly over the screen. When finished dry the screen with soft material like cotton t-shirt material that will not leave any fibres. You can then rub the screen gently with a shammy cloth to bring up the sheen.
