Dog Urine Removal
There are two steps to dog urine removal. Firstly break your dog of the habit of urinating indoors, secondly get rid of the stain and smell. If you dog is urinating in the house there are behavioral techniques you can use to amend the problem. If your dog is constantly urinating in your home there is probably some stimulus there causing his behavior and dog urine removal will not fix the problem. For instance, if you have recently moved into an older home and your previously housebroken dog starts urinating indoors, you might be facing a dog urine residue situation. A short term solution is to clean up after your dog but in the long term you need to change your dogs behavior so they don't associate your house with a place they can urinate. Here are a few steps to follow to train your dog not to urinate in the house. Dog Training Step 1: Try to find why your dog is urinating where he is. . Have you recently moved and did the previous owner have a dog that urinated in the same place? . Have you purchased a new item of furniture or plant that your dog does not like the smell of? . Has your dog urinated indoors a few times without being told off and now got into a bad habit?
Step 2: Get rid of the offending item or clean the area thoroughly If you find that your dog is associating an item with urinating in the house try and get rid of it. Clean the area thoroughly with a good dog urine cleaning product. Step 3: Combat your dogs behavior by changing it. . If your dog has associated an item with urinating indoors where possible move that item outside to tell him 'this is where you should be going' . When your dog does urinate indoors make sure you tell him off right away and make sure he knows he has been bad. . When he urinates indoors rub his nose in it while telling him off and then take him outside to where he should be urinating.
Using these techniques you should be able to stop your dog urinating indoors and have your home smelling sweetly again in no time. The Stain The stain is usually easier to clean than the smell. You can use a homemade remedie for this or if you prefer there are some excellent commercial cleaners, for example Vanish. For the homemade remedie you will need: . 1 spray bottle. 1/8 cup of white vinegar. 1 tspn lemon juice. Warm/hot water. 1/8 cup washing soda The vinegar will also help neutralize the urine smell. The Smell If you have used the home remedie stain remover above the lemon juice and the vinegar will have helped neutralize the smell but won't have completely irradicated it. You will need to use enzyme odor neutralizers to completely get rid of the smell. Products that contain these enzymes can be purchased from any good pet store. They can be expensive but it is well worth it. Make sure you follow the directions on the pack exactly. These cleanup techniques for dog urine removal will of course only work of course if you have trained your pet not to urinate in the house any more.
