Mildew Smell Removal

Mildew smell removal can be acomplished. Mildew and damp can give off quite a strong and unwelcoming smell in your home and old houses are prone to it.

If you have mildew then the most common cause is damp. To remove the mildew smell you need to concentrate on dealing with the damp. There are many causes of damp and it could be something as simple as clogged guttering that is causeing the damp in your home. First off try and find the cause of the damp and solve the problem; clear the guttering, recork the window seal, get better ventilation into the room etc...

If you have a more inbuilt damp and mildew problem because of an old house then to solve the problem as best as possible and get rid of the smell I recommend getting a dehumidifier for the offending room or area.

A dehumidifier will suck water out of the air reducing the damp content and the ability of mildew to grow. I have a problem with damp in my second living room. The damp comes up from the floor even though a damp proof course has been fitted. There are no visable signs of the damp but you could smell it when you entered the room. I purchased a dehumidifier and was amazed at the amount of water that it extracted from the room. Within a week the smell of damp was no longer noticable. The dehumidifier runs in that room all the time switcing itself on when the water content in the air reaches a certain level. I has worned wonders and got rid of the smell of damp. It is also inexpensive to run.

The dehumidifier I purchased is a Delonghi and has been running for over two years no with no problems. There are lots of dehumidifiers on the market Click Here to Take A Look! and read customer reviews.
