Natural Cleaning Products

You can make natural cleaning products from your own home if you are concerned about what is going into your cleaning products.

This is easy to do but the ingredients can sometimes be difficult to find.

Natural Laundry Detergent

1 Bar of natural unperfumed soap
1/2 cup Washing Soda - Washing soda is sodium carbonate or soda ash. It is a white powder used to remove dirt and orders.
1/2 cup Borax - Borax is a naturally occurring mineral used as a laundry whitener and deodorizer.
1 Bucket

Grate the soap and put it in a sauce pan. Add 6 cups water and heat it until the soap melts. Add the washing soda and the borax and stir until it is dissolved. Remove from heat.

Pour 4 cups hot water into the bucket. Now add your soap mixture and stir. Now add 1 and 1/2 gallons of water and stir. Let the soap sit for about 24 hours and it will gel. You use ½ cup per load.

You can add essence to the soap to give it a nice smell. Lavender works well. This soap won't froth like normal washing soap but cleans just as well.

Kitchen & Bathroom Cleaner

1/2 cup venegar
1/2 cup Lemon juice
2 tsp baking soda
2 cups water
Spray bottle

Mix all ingredients above and put in the spray bottle.
