Weekly Cleaning Schedule

Your weekly cleaning schedule should contain all of those household chores that need to be done once a week. Below is a list of chores that I complete once a week. Some of these chores can be done more than once a week but if you are a busy mum organising your time is critical to running a family home efficiently and there is no need to overload your cleaning routine.

Weekly Cleaning

  • Strip beds and wash bedding
  • Wash all used towels
  • Shake out all rugs
  • Shake out/vacuum curtains
  • Dust high items
    • Tops of curtains & rails
    • Ornaments out of reach
    • Tops of cupboard doors
    • Tops of mirrors & pictures
  • Thoroughly clean bathrooms
    • Clean shower screen with window cleaner
    • Renew toilet freshners
    • Put drain freshner down plug holes
    • Wipe over tiled areas with anti mold spray
    • Clean shower head
  • Clean kitchen bin inside and out
  • Wipe out inside of fridge
  • Wipe out microwave
  • Remove any clutter that has accumulated
  • Clean oven and hob
  • Put drain cleaner and freshner down kitchen and utility drains
  • Put the dishwasher on a clean cycle
  • Vacuum under sofa cushions and under sofas
This complete cleaning list should take around two hours to complete. If you use this cleaning schedule along with my daily, bi-weekly and monthly cleaning schedules your house should always be clean and tidy and you shouldn't need to spend too much of your day cleaning.
